The Great Google Book Ad Experiment

The first great experiment

I had coffee with a publisher friend called Andrew J Harvey and he told me about  “The Great Google Book Ad Experiment (aka Can a Google Ad Sell Books).” So far the results have not been encouraging. Although the book he'd advertised had been clicked on often he had not had any sales. A marketing adage that might be relevant is that you need to convince a prospective buyer several times before they purchase. This may mean that using paid advertising is best when combined with other initiatives that promote your book.
